The model, the session, and why it's built this way round.

Usually disengaged from mainstream education. Some at risk of exclusion, or of child criminal or sexual exploitation. Others struggling with their mental health, or with no creative outlet at all. We go to where they already are — the classroom, the AP unit, the youth club, the wing.
Journaling, gratitude, and "I am" statements. A consistent way in, every week. Then a check-in: good and bad from the last week.
The week's theme, driven by video, lyrics and activities rather than a lecture. Young people work out what they think before anyone asks them to write.
A verse, a hook, a spoken word piece — whatever the young person can get to. Sharing is optional, always. Most of them do it by week three.
One thing learned, one thing to do differently, one thing to do this week. Written in the booklet — the record that builds up week by week.
